The G Word

I was listening to an online worship service the other day. The minister at one point jokingly said, “I am going to use the G word.” Then he made a statement using the word God in the sentence. There was uncomfortable laughter from the congregation.

So when did using the word “God” become such a target of ridicule? I understand that there is a whole gamut of how people see and define divinity. I also understand that some people use religion as a way to alienate others or try to browbeat them into accepting their same beliefs. Neither of those are my intent. I am comfortable in using the word “God” and will do so unashamed.

I am not here to convince anyone of anything. I am here to connect with and encourage others who already share some of the same beliefs and thoughts that I do.

My wish for you is that you find your voice and are able to speak freely about what is important to your heart.
