One day at work I was driving from one building to another across town. Out of nowhere I started feeling melancholy, gloomy and almost despondent. I started to weep. I had no idea what had come over me. Not accustomed to energy work, I asked myself what in the world? I saw a vision of a funeral and a coffin with a man inside it. I thought, ok, someone died.
Ummm, I don’t see things or get visions. What the heck?
At my second building, I composed myself and exited my car. In a high branch of a nearby tree there was an extremely loud crow. Extremely loud, like it really wanted my attention. How could an ordinary crow be that loud?!? I had never energetically spoken to an animal before and I found myself saying out loud, “Seriously, what do you want?!?”
I got the message that this same man had passed away much too soon, leaving behind a young family, totally in shock and unprepared. I had no idea what to do with this information. I completed my business and headed back to my office. It was difficult for me to shake the emotions that I had just seen and heard.
When I returned to the office I was told that Beth, who worked down the hall yet closely with my department, had been notified that
morning that her husband Charlie had died of a heart attack while at work. Charlie was in his mid 40s and left two young sons and a devastated wife.
It took me almost 10 years before I was comfortable telling Beth the story of the crow’s message. By that time, the boys had grown up and Beth had found love with a wonderful new Husband. Why did I wait so long to tell her? Because I had no understanding or explanation for why or how the message had been shared with me.
Why did I finally choose to tell her? Because I had just been establishing my spiritual legs and wanted to share that part of my journey with her.
Sometimes Spirit gives us little bits of insight to chew on. Many times when we least expect it.
