Renaissance of One
I have never been a very political person, nor have I really been one to stand up to fight for a cause. I have watched my friend Helen (pictured here) stand up for what she believes is right and put her time and energy behind that.
I have been in awe of Helen’s commitment to having a voice, even when it is uncomfortable. Perhaps it was Helen’s modeling, or perhaps it was fear or silent despair of our current political atmosphere, but for the first time I was moved enough to get my body behind something bigger than myself. I attended the Women’s march in Denver along with my youngest daughter and dear friend Constance. My first social activist event ever! And It gave me courage and the knowingness that I could step out for something I believed in.
But I am not the protesting, speak to my congressman kind of gal. Thank goodness people like Helen are. I needed to find my own way to try to make a difference, A way that I could use my talents and my strengths to make a positive impact.
Most recently, I have begun to champion my own “Renaissance of One” to do my part in counterbalancing hate, bigotry, prejudice and all of the “isms.” I have seen my role played out along the storyline of the Grinch who Stole Christmas. I see the world reverberating under the dark low level energy in our current political climate and reacting out of fear, sadness and anger. I want my response to be that like Cindy Lou Who, who at her darkest moment of realizing there would be no Christmas, started singing with the voice of hope, the voice of love, the voice of optimism. I see others joining in and letting love and light permeat from person to person. I see people coming together as never before to see the good in each other, to spread encouragement, and to give a smile or hug as needed.
I am reminded of many, many individuals who are stepping out into their own personal Renaissance of One and making a huge difference across the globe. I believe it is time for each of us to live out our own Renaissance of One in order to create the change that we and our planet are so in need of.
Yes, I know that we all need to work together and yes, I did call my Congress and State representatives. But if we all do our part in our own way, whether it is simply being kind or choosing to spread love or simply doing something to make someone else’s day better. It is all good and a welcome addition of positive energy.
There is a concerted effort on the parts of many others to make the world a better place for all. I am happy to stand in the ranks of others to help improve the human condition on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level.
My Renaissance of One is to bring the experience of One Love and divine healing to anyone who is interested. If watching me garner strength and courage to work outside of my comfort zone to bring light to the world encourages you, or gives you strength to shine your own light, whatever it looks like, all the better!
